Arlington, popular with flyers and close to several interesting tourist attractions, is in Snohomish County. Just north of the Seattle metropolitan area, Snohomish County is home to the new Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour, where groups can see the assembly of the Boeing 777 and 787, but there are plenty of Nature-based tours in the area as well -- bald eagle viewing, river rafting, kayaking, hiking trails and estuary tours giving your group a glimpse of local wildlife and habitat.
The Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour is located 25 miles north of Seattle's center, and is the only public tour of a commercial jet assembly plant in North America. At nearby Arlington, the Flying Heritage Collection presents more than a dozen different planes showing the revolution of aviation.
Snohomish County also is for outdoorsmen and adventure-seekers. The area has plenty of access to Puget Sound near Everett, but a half-hour drive will take you to the nearby Cascade Mountains.
Antique-lovers will rave about the many shops in the town of Snohomish situated in a gorgeous part part of the county that features rolling hills and mountain views.
And Snohomish County is an ideal jumping off point for excursions to the Seattle area, just a half-hour drive. Lodging in Snohomish County is cheaper and roads are less crowded, so many Seattle visitors choose to headquarter a little ways out of the city and drive in for daytrips.
