Blues and brews
Golf tourney will have live music, microbreweries
Blues, brews and golf -- what could be a better 1combination for a fun getaway? The Resort at the Mountain in Welches, Oregon, is doing just that by hosting a Day of Golf (D.O.G.) Tournament and Blues and Brews Festival on Friday, August 29.

Following the golf tournament, the Blues & Brews Festival will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on the 19th Green featuring a variety of local food vendors, microbreweries from around Oregon, and local bands. A selection of breweries include: Green Flash, Base Camp, and Mikes Lemonade. Fifteen percent of ticket sales go to the Guide Dogs for the Blind charity.

The cost is $70 per player, which includes a cart and $10 donation to the charity. A $25 Package includes: custom resort glass for sampling, one 4-ounce sample from each brewery, and three tickets for food samples. Beer samples are $2 for 4 ounce samples, pints are $4, food samples are in increments of $2.

Participants will play all 27 holes in a two person event. First nine will be played as a shamble, followed by a better ball, and last the alternate shot.

Guests looking to make it a weekend event can reserve a Blues and Brews package at The Resort on Friday, August 29 for two nights for as low as $189 per night. Package includes a room and two sampler passes to the festival.

Reservations (using promo code BNB14) need to be made by Monday August 25 by calling 503-622-3151 or emailing Golf@theresort.com. More information is at www.theresort.com.
