Busy holiday schedule on the PeninsulaCommunities along Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula will host several festive events to brighten up the holiday season. Special holiday events will start on Thanksgiving weekend and continue through New Year’s Eve.
Long Beach will kick off the season with Holidays at the Beach, Nov. 28 to 30. Activities include a free showing of “The Polar Express” hosted by Mrs. Claus, a Holiday Parade with Santa and Mrs. Claus, magic acts, crafts for kids, a tree lighting ceremony, and a celebration of Frosty the Snowman’s birthday.
That same weekend more than 20 artists from Chinook to Surfside will open their studio doors to the public for the Peninsula Arts Association (PAA) Studio Tour.
Other holiday events are as follows: Lighted Boat Parade, Port of Ilwaco, Dec. 6; Crab Pot Christmas Tree, Port of Ilwaco, Dec. 6; Tuba Christmas with the Astoria Tuba Quartet, Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum, Ilwaco, Dec. 13; B&B Holiday Open House, Long Beach Peninsula, Dec. 13 and 14; Liberty Theater’s Gourmet Christmas Home Tour, Long Beach Peninsula, Dec. 14; Water Music Festival Christmas Concert, Inn at Harbour Village, Ilwaco, Dec. 14; Fireworks at Midnight over the Ocean, Long Beach, Dec. 31.
During the holidays, area restaurants also go all out. Look for feasts and celebrations at the Shelburne Restaurant, 42nd Street Café & Bistro, Jimella & Nanci’s Market Café, The Depot Restaurant and other Long Beach Peninsula restaurants.
