New chairlifts
WA ski resorts add capacity for 2014-15
When the snow falls, Washington skiers and 1snowboarders will be treated to three new ski lifts for the 2014-15 season.

At Crystal Mountain, there are two new chairlifts -- High Campbell/Chair 6 and Quicksilver.

The High Campbell lift replaces a ski lift lost when an avalanche that was purposely set in motion by the ski patrol turned out to be bigger than expected, destroying the lower two towers and bottom terminal. Fortunately, the lift was old and scheduled to be replaced anyway and construction was moved up to make sure it was functional this season.

The Quicksliver Chair is a new quad, which will nearly double capacity to 1,800 skiers and snowboarders per hour. An added benefit is that the chairlift has been moved slightly to open up the runs near the chairlift.

The Summit at Snoqualmie will have a new chairlift, Rampart Chair, a quad chair that features an easy-load conveyer system. The chairlift is on the northern facing slopes of the Summit East ski area and functions both to increase the capacity to get skiers up the hill, and to increase available downhill terrain.
